The Children of Paraguay
Paraguay is one of the most impoverished nations inthe world. With no significantmineral or natural resources, the economy is largely agricultural. According to UNICEF, more than 30percent of children fail to finish elementary schooling, primarily due to nothaving an adequate command of Spanish, which is the language of tuition.In Paraguay’s capital city, Asunción, it is estimatedthat 30,000 children work the streets as shoe-blacks or newspaper vendors tosupplement the family income. DareTo Care volunteers who have visited the streets of Asunción have witnessed thesuffering of these children due to complete neglect, malnutrition, andparasites.Volunteers from our charity has visited Paraguaythree out of the last four years and provided aid in the form of food,clothing, and basic dental and medical assistance.
